We know that in planting and harvesting, the success of a fruitful season will depend on weather condition, perseverance, timing, knowledge and hard work. While many of these fundamentals will hold true in the future, it is clear that the world’s existing agricultural infrastructure is ill-equipped to satisfy increasing global demand for food.
